Due to the technology development and everyone has their own smart phones and moving into their own world. Now days even school going students are using social media and getting addicted to it.

In those days, the time when there were no mobile phones, children’s used to go out and play with their friends and they have a good time in enjoying with their friend. But the upcoming generation kids nowadays stopped playing outside the ground and started playing games in mobiles. While coming to teenagers and adulthood, they started to get addicted in their mobile phones.

Every inventions has a good and bad. Same way the usage of mobile has been an addiction like a drug to everyone. Due to the more usage of mobile phones and social media your mental health is badly affected. Because of the mobile and social media people started to separate themselves from the surroundings. They feel that using mobile phones and social media they are so happy and making comfortable themselves. But deep inside they are getting lonely and get separated by themselves.

Due to these social media, many of us are interested to post pictures and have our own profile, enjoying by seeing memes. Among many of us would have post happy pictures with happy faces and motivational quotes etc… But many of us reality are just opposite. The true fact is that nowadays people are trying to satisfy others rather than their own wishes. It’s like they are projecting that posting a picture and getting a 100 likes or comments make them happier.

Social media and mental health:

Being socially connected and spending time in social media you get stress, anxiety, and feel loneliness. On the other side it can affect you mental health also.

Even though we have lot of friends connected in social media, when we talk about reality there would be only few members to talk with us. So social media is completely a fantasy world, when coming to reality we have to meet people face to face.

The best of meeting people face to face is it trigger the hormones that alleviate stress and make you feel happier, healthier, and more positive. When you meet people you express your emotions, you hug them and some sort of stress is released. But when compare to social media you may not feel that experience.

If you are spending much time on social media you feelings of sadness, dissatisfaction, frustration, or loneliness are impacting your life, it may be time to re-examine your online habits and find a healthier balance.

 Positive aspects of social media:

  • You can easily communicate and stay connected with your friends.
  • Find new people and communities
  • Discover (with care) sources of valuable information and learning.
  • You find people of your same interest and same passion.
  • Join or promote worthwhile causes; raise awareness on important issues

 NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA:

When coming to negative social media, the main aspects is many youngsters and children’s are getting mislead by the content on the social media. Even though there are good contents in social media, but they are easily goes wrong to the bad content.

Cyberbullying is one of the most negative aspects of social media, because of this many people are affected. This is one of the common one going through when we use social media. Now days social media are showing such hurtful rumors and spreading negativity more, this lead to depression and low their self esteem

Social media and mental health effects:

Having no time for self-reflection.

Being distracted at school or work.

Suffering from sleep problems.

Being lonely and separated from others.

So the conclusion is I am not telling social media is extremely bad or should not be used, it about in which limit we use. Try to avoid using social media for long hours and getting addicted to it.
