How Men’s ♂️ and Women’s ♀️ Brain Works?
Have you ever been curious about how our mind functions? Or how it affects our behavior, memories, attention, sleep, or relationships? How does it survive in particular situations from stress by using different tactics? Can exercises boost our brainpower? There are more questions that make me eager to know about our brain. As one said, Mind is the most powerful thing one can have.
I’m always burning in curiosity to learn how to master one’s mind before it controls the person. Do you know males and females have different brains? Yes, this is true. But it doesn’t mean one is more capable than the other one or more deserving. No, it’s a cognitive (or you can say biological) difference not cultural. A lot of arguments and studies have been done as we know that the brain is the strongest organ but it’s full of complexities.
First, let’s discuss the structure of our brains –
As I said earlier, brains have biological differences, like in our brain cells, cortex, and amygdala. Our frontal lobe which is for planning, problem-solving, expression of emotions, memory, and language. According to studies, scientists have found some parts of the cortex are larger in females than in males.
Amygdala (the fear center of the brain) plays a pivotal role in behaviors and emotions. Why do we call Amygdala a fear center of the brain? Whenever a person faces fearful stimuli, this stimuli sends the message to Amygdala which conveys the message to the hypothalamus to trigger fight or flight mode. Females often have larger hypothalamus but Amygdala is much bigger in males than in females.
There are two hemispheres in our brain – right and left. The left hemisphere controls the right side of the body and the right hemisphere controls the left side of the body. An interesting fact is – When a person is calm and relaxed, the female Amygdala is likely to have conversations with the left hemisphere of the brain and male Amygdala does the chitchats with the right hemisphere of the brain.
Behavior difference in males and females
Different genders are the result of different brains. Every information that has been given to the brain always works in a different way, this results as chalk and cheese. Both have different ideas, opinions, and behaviors.
After a few hours of birth, boys tend to look for objects while girls stare at people. Also, they love the calm environment around them. When they grow, girls work on her interpersonal skills but boys become more adventurous. Men are better when it comes to doing a single task and women are more capable to do multi-tasks at a time.
Females observe small details clearly than the males do. Or you can say females are more intuitive than males. Females express their emotions well and cry often which disturbs the males. As men don’t cry easily. But if they do then it’s something serious. Yeah, I think we all agree on this part. I have rarely seen my brothers or my father crying. Though I don’t want it. But this true. They are less expressive but strong-minded where small things can make my mother cry.
Building Relationships
Human beings are social creatures but we socialize with everyone differently. Girls are talkative, they use both hemispheres while talking, maintain eye contacts and they use their talking talents to build a relationship. Boys do totally the opposite of what girls do. For example, we all watch movies…and especially in our Bollywood movies. A silent boy always meets a talkative girl like Jab we met. It’s a perfect combination. Females often say males don’t interact with them. But it’s not their fault, their brains are not structured to make them interact or express their emotions on a regular basis. Females tend to care more for their personal relationships and how secure she feels in those relations. Whereas males look for independence, profit, and power.
Emotions and stress
Why are girls more emotional than boys? And why do boys hide their emotions when they get hurt? A few days ago, I went for a walk with my parents. After walking for a while, I sat on the bench and looked around. Some children were playing there. One boy fell on the ground and he started crying. His parents ran to him and helped the boy. He got a little scratch on his knee. His mother was convincing him that it’s not a big deal but he didn’t stop crying. After all, he was a kid. And his father could not bear it. The father held the kid’s hand and said- oh boy! Come on stop crying. You are a boy and boys don’t cry. So, do you also think crying makes a person weak? No, it doesn’t. I agree that women are more emotional than men and men don’t share everything. But this is what makes a relationship perfect.
If we talk about stress then I believe everyone is equally affected by stress. However, women get anxiety or stress more easily than men. But females share things which makes them overthink. Not every time she shares her situation means she is looking for a solution from you. Maybe she just wants you to listen to her carefully. On the other hand, when men are stressed, they try to take out their frustration on other people.
Conclusion
Men are the Mars and women are the Venus, this was referred to show the difference between males and females. We think differently not because of our genders it’s because of our brains. They are structured differently but complete each other like two sides of the same coin. So, both play a crucial role in success and failure.
Once Martin Luther said girls interact and stand on their feet earlier than boys because according to him unwanted plants always grow quickly than a good crop. I’m not trying to depict what people think of women’s capabilities. No, women were not brought to existence to do everything that a man does. They were created to do every single thing a man can’t do.
Nidhi, this article of yours is by far the best work by you. In which you have covered a lot of good things, and you have very beautifully put it in this article. I also loved the references you have used to express your thoughts!
I would want to read more about “why do boys hide their emotions when they get hurt?” and also “what leads them to behave in a completely different way to the same situations”!
Thank you so much for your support… Also I’ll work on the questions that made you more curious.
