GOOSEBUMPS

“Raise your words and not your desires, make your words give everyone few Goosebumps.”

Did you know about the famous fiction novel Goosebumps? Written by American author R.L Stine book, which is the part of children’s literature. The book consists of all the supernatural horrific and thrilling elements.
The book was named “Goosebumps” because it gives the reader a pack of emotional thump. As the book is a part of children’s literature it made them experience suspense, mystery and horror. The reader could feel intense emotion, cold and fear after reading it. Goosebumps are physiological and biological phenomena tend to form when you are cold or you have an intense emotion, shock, anxiety towards something. There is an adrenaline rush in your body which gives you these bumps. Goosebumps are not any kind of medical disease. It does not require treatment as it is an involuntary action and no treatment can prevent Goosebumps. These are naturally occurring simulations appear due to the contraction of Arrestor Pili Muscles. Human body tend to react to certain elements in their own way. The hair on the body stand up straight and makes our skin look bumpy. If the skin does not have hairs then you can see tiny small bumps or irregular pores on your skin. This phenomenon is also known as Piloerection. The main symptom of bumps on skin is that you feel cold, you tremble and you have an intense feeling. Your body hairs stand up for few seconds making you feel different. Every individual including animals and primates might have experienced Goosebumps on a regular basis. Here are some of the reasons you get Goosebumps:

COLDNESS: Our body temperature plays an essential role for the appearance of Goosebumps. It is said that Goosebumps tend to appear when your body is cooler than your soul. You might have noticed that mammals, and other animals has hair on their body. This is because the hair helps them stay warm. When our body temperature changes to cold or you witness something that is cold and chilling you get Goosebumps. Some people also get Goosebumps when they are ill or are suffering with fever, the change in normal body temperature to an extreme state gives you these bumps.
FEAR: The deepest side of our mind. Every living creation fear something or other, regardless of their tendency to control their fear. Some have fear of height, some fear of insects. Every individual has their own fears, something they are scared of. When you get scared there is an adrenaline rush in your body that makes you cautious and alert, one can have bad intuitions in this situation. This feeling is the cause of Goosebumps. Sometimes anxiety is also a source for the occurrence of these bumps. Anxiety is something that causes physical symptoms and disturbs an individual’s ability. During this state the mind of an individual can experience Goosebumps. For example- looking down from an airplane window or while doing skydiving one can get the chill, the fear of height or if you are watching a horror movie, after seeing a scary scene the brain and body would have a striking experience which will give you Goosebumps.

EMOTIONSSome very intense emotional experience can make the body trigger Goosebumps. When a person has different emotions going on weather it is happy or sad. The body releases certain chemicals through our mind which cause changes in emotions. For example: if you are very anxious about something, you have faced a major loss, or you are in a shock after an accident, your deep emotions can make these bumps appear. Sometime listening to people’s stories and tragic experience can also give Goosebumps.

SOUND: The most common reason, mostly experienced by all. Listening to music or certain sound that stimulates hormones into our brain. When our brain gets flooded with dopamine, you can experience these bumps. A very common example is when you hear the sound of chalk while writing on the blackboard, it gives a chill. This frequency of the sound of chalk is so amplified that it c gives Goosebumps.

SEXUAL AROUSAL: The context involves both mind and body. The most powerful sexual organ is our mind, our body is just the physical appearance of what our mind desires. In sexual arousal both the blood pressure and heart rate rise which triggers many hormones in our body. This excited sensation leads to the appearance of Goosebumps. The rapid rush of changes gives you chill and makes you feel pleasure. This is also a kind of emotional change that activates bumps on our skin.

DRUGS: Drugs change the way of your mind and body. It makes you function differently. People who take drugs enjoy the effect of it they feel excited and has a different energy. Drugs is something that boost up your immune. Certain drugs can cause Goosebumps. Taking drugs on a regular bases can stimulates chemicals into our body when can give Goosebumps. People who are very much addicted to drugs, when tries to withdraw from taking them also gets Goosebumps. The body goes into many changes and mood. The person is not able to control his emotions which triggers these bumps. For example: a study said that when people on drug like opioid tries to stop the drug, there skin resembles to show signs of bumps.

In conclusion we can say that Goosebumps are not some kind of serious issue or disease. It is a natural change which occurs for certain period of time due to imbalance in body temperature, intense emotion or any kind of side effects. If you want to avoid Goosebumps frequently try not to keep your skin dry use moisturizer, this is the basic remedy for bumps. Goosebumps are no cause for worries, it is just some simple reflexes by the body and mind.
