What if I were to tell you that it is possible for you to eat your favorite’s in a healthier way. You might think I’m pulling your leg. Actually, I’m not. I am sure that many of you reading this would have made plans or diet plans to start eating healthy yet couldn’t or haven’t. Come now! Don’t dwell on the reasons and put that “PLAN” in action. We all know, “it is never too late” to do something good. Eating healthy isn’t as horrific as it seems and it’ll be my greatest pleasure to help you out. Check out these amazing alternatives which will make your junk into a health-friendly meal!

1. Replace the white flour(maida)

Flour is present in burger buns, pizza bread, cakes, pastries, pasta, etc. These products made from maida have ill effects on the body due to gain in weight. This can be replaced by various different flours. The best and the easiest one also found in everyone’s home is Wheat flour. The other alternatives for maida are Almond flour, Ragi flour, Millet (bajra) flour, Jowar (sorghum) flour. These are high in nutrition, good for health, and is a twist to the monotonous maida.

2. If not Potato then what?

Potato may be fried, mashed, roasted, or grilled is always a favorite. Yet high in carbohydrates. But there are alternatives for potatoes, too. Like instead of potato fries you can opt for sweet potato fries. Also, mashed potatoes can be replaced with mashed cauliflower or mashed radishes. These are quite healthy, low on carbs, and rich in nutrients. Also, fibrous gives a good bowel movement.

3. De-carbonate your life

Carbonated sodas, aerated cool drinks, and even packed fruit juices sound cool, right. But they aren’t cool enough towards your body. There is a wide variety of options to choose from when it comes to ‘quench the thirst’. At home, having blended fruit juices with the pulp, sufficient amounts of water, and when outside you can have sugarcane juice, buttermilk, lassi, or dahi. Wherever you be, whatever you do it is important for you to stay hydrated. Most importantly, these alternatives improve your gut, improves digestion, and relieve you off of other gut-related ailments.

4. Having chocolate sinfully

Chocolate is a pleasure for some stress reliever for others and is not to be consumed for the people trying to lose weight. Avoiding chocolates is like an impossible task and then I say look for a simpler way. If you crave chocolate, it is better to fulfill it but having a small serving. This change won’t happen in a day agreed but neither did the unhealthy habit of eating. You really need to learn self-control. This will surely help you big time. This is not only for chocolates but also for other things like ice-creams, sweets, etc. Everyone loves chocolates, sweets, ice-creams, etc. and consuming them won’t harm you if done in a controlled manner and in the daytime.

5. Exercise improves result

Exercise is important but not a vigorous one from the first day itself. Start by taking a walk for 10-15 mins or skip 100 in a day. These tasks may seem easy but starting with a small task is a good way of beginning something good. You can slowly increase your pace by including a little stretching or a brisk walk or increasing the time for which you walk. Also, by increasing the number of skips you do. Increase it at your own pace but make it sure that you do. Exercising helps you reach your goals a little sooner for sure.

If you are planning to begin your healthy lifestyle journey make sure to remember some more things: Drink enough water and stay hydrated, do not consume a heavy meal in the night, include healthier options and try out more alternatives, you can prize yourself with a cheat meal but only once or twice a week, always be conscious of what and how much you eat. Having a healthier life is never a bad decision because it is the best decision.

It surely is a bit difficult at first but you develop slowly and once it becomes a habit it will be the best gift from you to yourself.
