I wasn’t the most studious child but  i liked making pretty notes and thus opened books. It was a huge dilemma what subject to choose to with commerce, i went with psychology. I didn’t really know what it held for me. I thought i’ll be studying about body language expressions etc.  I didn’t really liked 11th ncert but did like studying any topic off internet regarding psychology. Finally, In 12th i started loving studying psychology even from textbook. It was the subject i spent my most time on and ended up taking it up for graduation. As i’m in my second year, I wouldn’t say that it’s a piece of cake. There are days when hate making practical files or didn’t like studying although interested.

Taking psychology has helped me a lot deal with my own issues and understanding others issues better. You cannot stick to just books, explore more ,learn online. Don’t limit yourself to just textual knowledge. I still don’t know in what psychology field i’ll major in and it’s kinda scary not knowing where your life is going. But we’ll get through it. I find joy in spending time cooking, watching netflix and trying out new food

@gurleenkaur Heyy, yeah same, I'm not very sure about what I'd want to take up in psychology so I'm just living in the present now and trying my subjects. Sometimes it also feels like I'm caught up feeling scared because of comparing myself with the others that have also taken up the subject and its something I'm consciously focusing on improving. So it's really reassuring to hear how other people feel similarly and are still trying to explore the subject. I hope we'll figure it out along the way ❤️ ❤️

Hey Gurleen

That's great. Incredibly honest. Sometimes our course can indeed wear us out. Thank you for admitting that. I am kinda relieved to hear it from someone else. And I guess each field requires a lot of research and exploration.

It was really nice knowing about your journey with the subject, surely there are things we like about it and something we don't like more. But it's what makes a journey fun.Don't worry much about the future you will surely do good just be focused and live in the moments and remember hard work has no shortcuts.

Are we synced, friend? I love making notes too and do it just to see how beautiful they turn out. I am glad that you found your academic passion as I have done. Even I don't know exactly what field of Psychology I want to specialized is and as you said it is kind of scary but the idea of such a thorough exploration is exciting enough to keep us going, right? I am a first year student of Psychology too and yes graduation in this subject doesn't come easy. But the beauty of Psychology is that you can learn it from everywhere and anywhere. When you're watching movie, binging, reading a book, hanging out with friends, attending a wedding or doing literally anything- you are learning about Psychology. It is not and cannot be contained merely by books. I hope like us, everyone is able to see the wonders of  Psychology everywhere

Good to see that psychology's helped to grow into a better person and also more empathetic. Also, the way you emphasized the need to move beyond what's taught in books and gain actual information and experiences from other reliable sources is also equally important. Luck to you for your future endeavors and hope you'll figure it out and continue shining 😊
