HOW TO HEAL FROM TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS ?

Everyone in this world loves to be treated in a special way. This special feeling is experienced by us normally through our friends, family and relatives. Many a times, we do have a ‘special’ relationship with a ‘special’ person who makes us feel like we are a prince/princess of a huge kingdom ! This feeling cannot be defined in words, right ? But, sometimes the same special person no more remains special ! All of a sudden, our world turns upside down. We feel depressed and melancholy surrounds us from every corner. We stop eating, sleeping and even thinking ! So, the question is, how can we heal from such relationships ? Well it obviously depends from person to person, but there are some general things a person can follow to become fully functioning once again. So let’s just know about some ‘must to be followed’ steps quickly.

1)STOP OVERTHINKING :

The first and the most basic step to be kept in mind is to stop overthinking about every minute thought that is going on in your mind and is creating a depressive environment for you. What happens is that a normal and sometimes a trivial issue runs throughout our mind for the whole day & eventually leads us to predict certain situations that won’t be taking place in the actual world. Once you calm yourself and stop overthinking you will surely feel relaxed and optimistic. As soon as a thought comes to your mind, analyze it from its root and try to bring a proper decision on it. It will take a bit of time to stop overthinking but, it will surely make you more capable of making short yet proper decisions over any kind of problems or situations.

2)TRY TO BE OPTIMISTIC :

Well, being optimistic in such harsh times may sound impossible but, it is not that hard. You can’t just get to the top of a mountain all of a sudden ! Every activity we do, needs patience and strong determination. In the same way one cannot start to feel ‘optimistic’ all of a sudden. As discussed above, you need to analyze your thoughts, know about your pros and cons and try to accept the situation as it is. Many a times, you may feel that you are of no good and being optimistic is an arduous task to be achieved. But, this is the time that will define your ‘will power’. Try to see the bright side of your problem, surround yourself with positive environment, try to talk with your friends & family members & most importantly, know your own worth in this world !

3)CRY YOUR HEART OUT ! :

Yes, you read that right. Cry your heart out! Because if you don’t you will be packed with unexpressed emotions which will indirectly lead you towards depression and anxiety. Generally, crying is considered to be a weak emotion. But, it actually is not. When we cry, all our suppressed feelings and emotions come out & eventually we feel relaxed. It is up to you whether you want to cry when you are aloof or when you are with your best friend. But, yes, whenever you feel to cry just burst out your unexpressed emotions and feelings.

4)BE MATURE ENOUGH TO HANDLE THE SITUATION :

Maturity is a thing which gets better and better as we age and as we gain more and more experience of the world. But, it is not always the same. Even if you are a 25 year old boy or a girl, it is not necessary that your maturity level will be as high as you expect it to be. Try to solve the situation like a grown person and not like a child. As long as you will act like a child, you won’t be able to dig yourself out of the problem. Stay calm and face the problem. Try to find the best possible way to come out of your problems. Take help of mature and experienced people around you. In short, don’t act like you are a 5 year old kid !
