Reading people is an Art

This article is not about how we read-out minds like Robert Pattinson did in Twilight Saga. Only a bloodsucker can do that (if they are for real).

The expertise to read human beings correctly will particularly affect our life. We meet many people in our lives, some could not get along but there are also people who make us feel comfortable like we have known them for years. It’s about knowing, beyond the words they speak. It’s about observing what they candidly mean, even when they speak in any other way. We want to see past their masks into the person who they really are.

To read the invisible, you have to simply observe and pick out the details. Take it slow, don’t try to learn everything at once.

Learn to notice the body language of a person

What are they wearing? Their facial expressions, postures and movements.

Pay attention to the overall behaviour.

Be objective and open-minded

Notice the words and tone

Listen to your gut feeling

Keep practising on observing people.

Conclusion:

People won’t tell you what you need to hear. But listening to their unsaid words, observing quietly and reading unspoken words is an art in itself.

What do you think?

I liked your idea of observing people carefully to understand them better. Understanding one another is so important to reduce our loneliness during this pandemic. Very relevant article.

simple yet left a powerful message . People spend years studying kinesics but one of the easiest way to understand is observing and deciphering the unsaid (also, being empathetic helps!)
