Mindfulness with plants

Hello Everyone

In my last blog, we discussed Mindfulness and its pros and cons. Today, I am back with a new topic and it is

Plants and Mindfulness

Before starting the main blog, I will just give you a short description of what mindfulness is. Mindfulness is the art of alertness. A mindful person is fully aware of where he is what he is doing. He is calm and fully aware of his emotions which help him to stay still and enjoy the beauty of the moment. A mindful person also faces difficulty but he understands that he can’t control the things and it helps him to stay positive. While practicing mindfulness you should not think about what’s wrong and what’s right you should be open-minded and after some time you will realize it was just your perception and belief towards the thing. Mindfulness helps you to learn the art of letting go. It makes you a better person because you start to become more independent and become more aware of your true self and surroundings. Your expectations from other people decrease and you become self-dependent.

Importance of plants in Human life

In movies, we all know superheroes with the Capes but in real life, Plants are the superheroes without capes. Even before human beings, nature was present and the life of human beings started after that.  There are many benefits of plants I will enlist some of them for you

• Plants keep the balance in the atmosphere

• Plants give us fresh air which is very important

• Not only human beings but the main source of food for most of the animals is plants

• Plants keep the temperature in control

• Plants help us to give clear water

• Helps to keep us mentally healthy

Uses of Plants in Mindfulness

We should be thankful to the Universe because it has given us the most beautiful gift in the form of Nature. Nature helps us to connect our minds and soul most beautifully. You feel relaxed and calm just by going near the plants. Practicing mindfulness with plants I want to suggest you practice Mindfulness meditation in the morning near plants and just focus on the cool breeze. You can create your garden as well if possible if not then visit a nearby park for 30 minutes. While going for walk does not carry your phone or any other electronic gadget. In this digital world, our mental health is getting affected because of the harmful radiation so we should avoid the internet for some time.

Steps for Mindfulness meditation with plants

• Turn off your phone

• Take few deep breaths

• Look at the plant in the way you look at your loved one

• Give a gentle smile to a plant

• Notice the structure of stem, color of the new leaf, look at the bud and the flower

• Water the plant and listen to the calming voice of water and feel it

• Touch the wet soil and feel the warmness of soil

• Take a deep breathe and observe the smell of wet soil

• Clean the leaves of plants and with that experience the new you.

This way you will get a new and wonderful experience which will help you to change your lookout for the life. Now a day’s people are just doing work thinking as a responsibility and that’s the main reason we are facing mental problems like depression, anxiety, and many more. We need to stop and we should observe how nature works. Nature is the best example of Patience. We should not get worried and should not look for quick results. With a short note, I will end this blog here. So start living in the present moment and love yourself.

Great work Khushboo. One of the best blogs I’ve read to connect myself with the environment. With the problem of Climate Change that we are facing today, I think it is very important for us to really introspect and realise the importance of plants in our lives at a personal level. You did a great job bring up this topic.
I’m looking forward for more amazing blogs from you.

These are things I’ve been practicing for years and I’m glad to see more people knowing and applying it. Plants are like low maintenance companions who would just accept you for who you are and that’s unmatched. Also, there are certain plants like peace lily, rosemary, holy basil and such which have shown to have really positive effects. Appreciate your post ❤

Poojitha

True, plants are very important. We need to grow more plants. Just as they say green is the colour of hope. An amazing article.♻️

This was amazing. Honestly, I’ve never looked at mindfulness through the lens of plants so the title gripped me and the article left me in complete awe. Going on a walk in a part is my preferred stress buster more times than not but I’ve never contemplated enough to reach to the conclusion of mindfulness through nature so for me this article was literally food for thought. Thanks a ton.

Take care and stay safe

Wow!! Great choice of topic. Meditation with plants is a highly underrated blessing. During such times, everyone should give it a try as it will be highly beneficial for their overall health.

vrinda tuteja

I absolutely agree. Nature does heal everything. It has a calming, soothing and enriching presence in all our lives. You chose an amazing topic! Real good work 🙂

Diya Rao Jaini

This is really well written. It made me realise how often we take nature for granted and completely overlook the calming effect it can have on us. Great job!

Saumya Srivastava

The article is very refreshing. I particularly liked that you gave tips to practice mindfulness as mostly when people write articles like these, they only focus on giving information and don’t tell how they can be implemented. What I think will enhance your article, even more, is if you could divide the text under “Plants and MIndfulness” and “Use of Plants and Mindfulness” into smaller paragraphs.

Karen Fernándes

Wow.. This piece is written beautifully. I really liked the steps for mindful meditation with plants. As I was reading I could feel peace within. I actually water plants every day but now I’m going to try this method surely. Thank you so much for writing this.

Idhaya g

Your topic itself mind blowing extraordinary stuff in your article. Awesome concept

Taniya Singh

so thoughtful, what we can learn from nature`s gift around us . I personally feel stress free after moving around in my garden for some time.

Preeti Laishrm

Absolutely loved the topic and the content. As a plant lover myself I agree with all the points you have put down. Also talking your heart out to them really helps with your stress. It’s free therapy . Do try it out

Parishree

It’s so true. As a child I used to be very shy and quiet, not many friends but I would talk to plants and people thought I was crazy but they actually feel your energy. Nonetheless, just being amongst nature is so refreshing and relaxing and it surely heals you in a way that medicines cannot.

Vipassana Gautam

Hey there! I am a plant lover and I can completely relate with the concept of plans and mindfulness. I really appreciate how you made pointers for all the tricks and steps we can take to practice this self care. It was really help, thank you. Our mind is full of thoughts of all shapes and sizes. Scary thing about mindfulness or being self aware is that you become as much aware of your “bad/intolerable/unacceptable” thoughts as you do of your good or neutral ones. I want to tell you that it’s fine, it’s only natural of the human brain to function like this. Don’t be afraid to be conscious of your thoughts just because they are harsh. All the best

Anukrita Bharaktiya

This article is written really nicely. The topic is quite unique as very few people have touched upon this topic. The article is informative.
Talking to the plants and animals helps a lot in relieving stress. Talking to animals is already being used as a therapy but talking to plants is not a mainstream idea and most people do not know about it or find it crazy. But in reality it actually is a great way of releasing the stress.

Mehak Jain

Plants have such an amazing i’m act on the positive mindset

Kritika Bhair

Heyyy
I always read about mindfulness-meditation & plants separately
But the way you put these three things together is beautiful
I’m definitely going to try this from next morning!

Thank you
Good luck

Nandini Jain

hii khushboo, this article is well written but it doesnt give much stress over what is mindfulness. first you have to fully explain what mindfulness actually is then what is the relation of plants with mindfulness. your defination about mindfulness is not clear uou could write Mndfulness as the practice of purposely bringing one’s attention to experiences occuring in the present moment without judgement.

Ankita ganguly

I absolutely agree, nature does heal everything

Umme Asma

Kriti Misra

This article is a good reminder to get in touch with nature and lose and find yourself yourself again in the process. I could totally relate to this article. A walk in my garden, just observing the leaves and flowers and the feeling of my feet on the grass rejuvenates me and releases stress. Watering the plants, plucking dead leaves or taking responsibility for at least one or two of the plants in your garden or inside your homes is also a good practice.

Fiona Buthello
