How many times in one day, do we sit and think about our future? I don’t know about you, but I think about it more than anything else. Where do I see myself in the next ten years? How do I see myself? Well, one thing I know for sure is that I see myself become successful. I want to be able to look up at the sky and say that yes, my journey to where I want to be and even more, has begun. I want to be successful, not just in what I do. But in what I stand for and what I become. I successfully want to be a better human being, a better friend to the world. A gift.

We have all lost a lot of our motivation due to the ongoing pandemic that we are in. We feel hopeless. Well, this is where we go wrong. I had been feeling this way as well, I had been wasting day by day not knowing what is happening and not doing anything productive. Then I came across this video of Elon Musk. I’m sure we all know about him. He really is a successful guy. And in the video, he shares his secret to success. It inspired me. And I am going to share what I got from it so that it can inspire you.

THE RULES OF SUCCESS

Work like hell:

The first rule of success is to put on maximum efforts. You need to invest time in the thing you want to do. It is not just going to come to you because you are good at it. No. You need to work and work and work and work some more after that. When you are in that phase, where you are starting and you do not feel like putting in efforts, then you may not be successful in it. Because working towards your goals is what is going to bear the results of it. Each time you are not working on your goal, you become distracted and your work starts to become unimportant. And I mean, this is what you want to do ahead. So put in the extra efforts, make your own thing stand out from the others and let your results make the noise of the work you put in.

Have a high pain tolerance:

The second rule, and a very important one for that matter, is that we have a high pain threshold. We should be able to endure pain and agony in what we set out to do. Sometimes, the work you do will just cause you an unlimited amount of stress, and you may feel stuck or lost or wanting to quit. Do not do so. It is okay to have these feelings towards your work. It is okay to get frustrated by it. But do not let go of everything that you put so much hard work in. So that is why it is important that you have high pain tolerance so that you can move above this.

Critical thinking:

The third rule of success is to have a mind which has the ability to do critical thinking. That means anticipating every consequence, good or bad, for whatever your next move may be. You need to always be on heels and think about how things affect other things and how that affects you in turn. Yes, it seems like a cycle because it is. So you need to start becoming more critical about things and not always just negatively. Because then you wouldn’t have a plan for positive things which could happen.

Add value to society:

The fourth rule of success is that you give back to society. Be the help that you never got. Most often, there are a few things here and there where we wish we could have received some sort of help. So now that you know how the struggle really is, help somebody out. Add value to society. Whatever you do, it should have something for the people. After all, without them, you would not be able to stand where you are. So that is why it is important that we understand our role and give back something valuable to society.

Take risks:

The fifth rule of success, and my favourite one for that matter. We only are what we are today because of the opportunities we take. Sometimes it is important for us to take that big leap of faith. And let go of what really is holding us back. We need to learn t get out of our comfort zone and learn that if we truly want something, it is always a gamble. A risk. So take that risk. Go ahead. Get out of the space you have created for yourself and explore what it id out there. You will find yourself fascinated by what you discover.

Deliver a great service/product:

Whatever it is that you do, make sure you put your best efforts in it and that it stands out. I consider you are in the business field and you launch a product which is slightly better from the other products in the market. The people are going to opt for the previous products because they have much more faith in them. That is why it is important that you reflect your uniqueness in the thing you put out for the world to see.

Attract great people:

The main focus of whatever it is that you are putting out is that it should attract the right kind of people. In fact, the best kind of people. When great people see potential, they push it forward. They take it to the next level, so maybe. Just maybe. You attracting the right crowd can be the help you needed. It will show that your product is a quality product, and a well respected one. So your brand becomes more and more trustworthy.

Constantly seek criticism:

I cannot emphasize on this topic enough but, it is important that we have a better tolerance towards criticism. Often we feel too egoistic and think that somebody just wants to put us down. Well, that is not the case. Criticism is what helps you understand the gaps in your plan which you fail to see. It will help you become the better version of yourself and that is why you should keep an open door for criticism and learn to begin to cope up with it.

Don’t go with the flow:

The biggest mistake that people do is that they settle for mediocre things and start steering their way into where everybody else is going. This is just where you do not want to be. Learn to have confidence in your uniqueness and believe in yourself. It should be enough for the world, and enough for you to do what you really want to do. Do not normalize yourself. You are different.

Overcome critics:

The tenth and the last rule of success is overcoming critics. When you do something good, there will always be somebody telling you that there was a fault here, there was a fault there. Learn to overcome them. Learn to know the difference between healthy criticism and fake criticism. Be strong and believe in yourself.

 

Conclusion

I would just like to say that for being successful, it all starts from you. No matter where you come from, the journey you make for success has to be completely you. Nobody can help you through it. It is a big part of our lives. So just hang in there and start doing more and more every day.
