Today , we can see that people are suffering from mental health issues, they are struggling but YES they don’t tell anyone about this because YES IT IS STILL A STIGMA. Why why why…. I always ask myself this question BUT at the end of the day I convinced myself, that it’s not their fault. It is just a lack of awareness in the society.
SO , I am a psychology student, that’s excellent right, but but I also have stress, anxieties, panic attacks and most important thing is I accepted it . I didn’t live in denial that I don’t have . Oho mujhe toh ye ho hii nhi sakta (this cannot happen to me) then I seek help ,Whenever I find it difficult. when I tell my mother that I am having this issues she said beta take time this will disappear so here I can say that again lack of awareness and stigma (what neighbour’s or relative will say). Now I am feeling well . I like to talk about mental health with people so I always talk to my mother about anxiety, why people need to know about this , but my mother always says beta talk about something else , so then I took a decision . If I want to make people aware about mental health now first i will start from my home . .
SO START FROM YOUR HOME IT IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS AWARENESS..
well said Anjali, but I guess you should explain more about mental health then explaining about what people say if we talk about mental health. Or if you you wanna talk about same then you can edit your tittle to something like [ why do people fear of talking about mental health or mental health and lay man views etc.] but you actually did great job.
