HELLO EVERYBODY!!
Ya so I am Hash for instance you can call me that I am a high school student in 9th . I am here to discuss my thoughts and questions as a teen as its been pandemic a lot of things have changed in our daily life and my notice on my body and looks have also increased so did my underestimation about me .As I am very concerned about my height ,weight ,looks, studies, future thinking . Basically I am worried about everything in my life going on in my head which I AM sharing today . I hate math and due to my interest in law and bold women and feminism I want to take up humanities as in specific psychology has been interesting since I knew about it because I love to talk to people love to solve their issues or listen and give them advice even if they are not of my interest I try to help them whereas on a second thought people think that because of math my overall report goes down and then I am said to take up commerce without math because my parents says its important to know finance and for dads business etc. Then they say me that we wont pressure you to do anything but in inside of me I feel guilty that just as they are saying if I am not able to do law or Psychology properly I will end up having no career which personally haunts me but I act fine I always have this thinking that if I take humanities I may end up nothing maybe my scores don't come or anything. SO I just wanna ask you all that should I take the risk of taking Humanity or take the risk of taking Commerce
Thank you FOR seeing.
PS not getting dramatic or emotional
Worrying alone will not bring any success in life. Please be confident and pursue your goal.
Hello Hash. Thanks for sharing this with us. Firstly I'd like to say to you that yes this pandemic has bought changes in everyone's lives. It's okay if you've put on weight, so did many people out there. We need to realise that while we're hoping to help anyone it should start with us being able to help ourselves, see the best in ourselves and loving ourselves including our flaws because we owe that to ourselves. Whereas about choosing humanities, I would just ask you to be calm about anything you want do and take time to learn more about the subject and it's field and when you know for sure that it is what you want to do despite what anyone says, then you'll know what to do.
You still have time before your 10th boards, talk to someone, for me it was our school counselor, who has better knowledge about the education system and how different courses function. Then you'll have enough time and information to decide what you really want to do. I wish you the very best in life.
hey buddy. calm down!!! It is ok. all this going on in your mind is normal. do not stress yourself a lot. I know how confused you must be right now. the same thing happened with my sister. she hated math and wanted to pursue music. It is never to late to pursue your passion.
Convincing parents is hard at times, but keep trying. Writing your worries is itself a form of therapy, so talk, write, share and do not stop untill you find solutions. The pressure of Managing business is a lot at such a young age, hope they understand how stressful it might be.
for now, forget all these worries, explore different subjects and seek guidance of a counsellor for your career choices and decisions.
Hey! It's okay not to know what you'll be doing next. I'll tell you I never knew. I just took random decisions then developed confidence and love for what I'm doing.
Life is all about decisions.
Worrying won't help you.
You'll just ruin today's peace.
Be calm. Don't worry to much.
Do what you love and develop an interest.
What is meant to be will always be
. So enjoy life when you still can. 😉
Hi Hash! I'm sure the other answers here would have given you all the information you need, but hear me out.
It is your choice to make at the end of the day. If you feel like taking up Humanities, I say go for it! I know it is difficult to approach parents who suggest a distinct stream, but they won't be able to help you out if you don't pursue what you truly desire to work with up ahead.
As for experience with commerce, we learn that as adults regardless of the degree we obtain!
You've got some time in your hands, and I'm so glad you could open up to our community.
Feel free to text me via the forum for any further help, if needed! Thank you for sharing your experience. Cheers!
