What is apathy? 

Do you sometimes feel unmotivated or uninterested in daily tasks? That is apathy.

Apathy is a feeling of being uninterested in life activities or interactions with others. It is a state of not caring or lack of emotions or feelings towards something.

Feeling unmotivated or uninterested sometimes is a type of situational apathy, and that is normal. However, it can be a symptom of neurological or psychological disorders if not treated on time.

Signs & symptoms

 Some indicators of apathy are –

  • Lack of emotions
  • Lack of interest
  • Lack of motivation
  • Trouble completing daily tasks
  • Lower energy levels

What causes apathy?

Apathy is a common feeling among people. However, if it is persistent and affects a variety of areas of life then it is a significant problem.

Some significant conditions that cause apathy are –

Apathy is normal till it isn’t severe and it doesn’t affect your life in different ways. We at times are not interested in doing things but that’s alright unless it affects our activities almost every day. If you think it is affecting you in various ways please get it diagnosed by a professional and get the required treatment.

A good article but could be elaborated more. Maybe you could add suggestions on how to feel connected again to people and what all can a person do to feel grounded with emotions again. You could also include the exact symptoms of when should a person going through apathy consult a doctor for aid.
