How to choose best career option if you have no guidance

Choosing a career is the path that everyone has to walk through in their life. As children we all aspire to become doctor, teacher or engineer but as we become adults we realise that we want different things in life. Some people know what they exactly want but still there are few of us who look for different options, explore a lot and still not have any idea about the right direction. It is not necessary that every person has to walk a pre-defined path. Everyone should feel the liberty to explore different choices and then make the right decision for them.  With digitisation there are plenty of options for an individual, for instance new found professions like bloggers, digital creators, app developers and so much more are earning fame as well as money. People who find out one path that gives them enough motivation to wake up every day and work hard till nights surely become successful. Success means different to each individual for some it is making more money, for some it is fame, for others it can be through feelings of achievement, helping others and being productive. It is important that whatever job we are doing should add more meaning to our experience as work satisfaction is one of the important aspect to be happy. 

Still there are certain things that one can look into before making a choice for their career.

1. Get to know yourself – Find out different areas that you are interested in, one should learn about themselves, try to make a list of profession that suits best to your interests. What kind of study/occupation will increase the zeal in you to work harder.

2. Explore your choices- After making a list explore each item of the list which will help you to take an appropriate choice based on your own preference. List the basic requirement of each domain if there is any special requirement or not, how much income will you make, work requirement, qualifications and so on.

3. Create a brief list – Now once you have gathered all the information of your interested options, you can narrow down that list according to your convenience by leaving behind options that do not fulfil your requirements.

4. Learning- To get more information with each detail it is suggested to search about the profession/degree though it is not necessary that you will get all the necessary information on the internet still internet can be used as an effective source to get information regarding the course/ profession you shall want to continue.  

5. Write an action plan-   After making a choice you should write the ways how you will achieve your goal, list all the steps that you need to take in order to reach to your goal. Writing your action plan is an essential step but one thing which is even more essential is actually implementing it. Most of us think of big goals but there are very few who work with dedication and take actions for it.

Choosing a career is one of the most crucial decisions we all have to take in our lives. So it is very necessary that we do that with clear conscience. Not everyone has to walk on one fixed path, we can make our own destiny by picking up something that we clearly love and give our heart and soul to it. For someone helping others by becoming a teacher or doctor could give them satisfaction and still for others entertainment could be a source of satisfaction. We just have to look for one thing that we are passionate about and then work hard in order to achieve our goal.
