Each society have their own set of values on how a male or a female should look. In a society like India where FAMILY is given upmost importance, we all tend to forget where to draw the line. A kid who might be around 13 or 14 attends a family get together is judged top to bottom. "Oh my god you've gained weight" "You don't look pretty like this" "Stop eating you HAVE to look like your cousin Meetha" and so on. The beauty standards for a male and a female is very different. A female is suppose to be fair, tall and slim. She is not suppose to be smart because you don't need smartness in the kitchen. The world is changing and with the world changing, people need to be educated on where the line is regardless of your relationship to the person and when to stop. This has to start from childhood and at both home and school.
