How I came upon Psychology

Firstly, I was one of those students who hadn't decided on my aim in life. Up until my 12th I was undecided and never did this uncertainty bother me. it was then when I took a career path test from school that paved the way towards psychology. I knew that I loved guiding people, listening to them since I'm not much of a rambler; I enjoyed observing people's behaviours. This was what first motivated me to study Psychology for my undergrad. During my 3 years of undergrad, I came to learn that psychology is not just about understanding people, helping them. It encompasses concepts beyond that. I always believed in vulnerability, communication, introspection, and I want to help bring more of that into this world. I'm tired of hearing the stigmas and misconceptions about psychology and mental health , and I want to contribute in the society. I want to pursue my masters in Clinical Psychology, but due to the current situation, that dream is on hold. I felt it was important for me to take some time off and process my whole life, to mentally and emotionally recharge myself, if thats a proper way to say it. I'm constantly looking out for more opportunities to gain more knowledge, and awareness. I'm hopeful this internship journey will provide just that.

Regards,

Stay safe, don't overwork yourselves and take life as it is. 🌻

@iarisa that's nice. Yeah it is necessary that sometimes we stop for a while and look how far we have come. But don't worry, I'm sure you'll achieve your dream. All the best for that.

@iarisa its okay! Even if your dream is on hold, you will definitely revive yourself into it because i truly believe that when a person is truly passionate about something, even your dreams start chasing you! Keep it up!

@iarisa i’m glad you have such great insights but i’d heartily recommend take some time off to figure your own self out. See it as an opportunity to grow.

@iarisa Yes exactly Psychology is not just about understanding but it's much more than that. There is a wider range of concepts that we really need to understand.

And it's a need of the hour to remove the stereoptypical thinking and stigma associated with mental healt problems

Appreciation for your wonderful content 🌟

@iarisa Glad to know that you've always been a keen believer in introspection and communication, two things absolutely important to incorporate in our lives. Secondly, I'm glad that you acknowledged the fact that you need a break to recharge yourself before you continue on. Kudos to you! I hope you do well!

The stigma around mental health is too high and it is really awesome to see more people take an interest in psychology and help bring about a change. I would love to connect with you.

Hey Iarisa, can you tell me what your name means? Also, you completed your undergrad! How great is that. You'll soon do Master's in Clinical Psychology, don't worry. The lockdown will pass, the troubles will pass but humans will remain and so will the stigma until we do something about it. I'm glad  to read about your outlook and I see a bit of myself in you. Let's all work together and make the world a better place. Wish you the best, my friend. 🤗

Hello. Thats a wonderful experience. I really hope you become a great clinical psychologist. Also its good to take breaks. seeing what is happening around us is really disturbing. Spending time with ourselves really help. Good job. The stigma around really sucks huh ? I really want people to broaden their mindsets. Its really saddening to see people think wrong and attaching wrong meanings. lets work together and try removing these perceptions. All the very best. Do great! Learn a lot. 😀
