I have had friends who have come to me and confided in me, about either their negative feelings, moods or suicidal thoughts/behaviors. Sometimes, it feels like I'm not even sure how to help and how much to help, and it makes me feel helpless. How do you guys cope with this, or do you have any experiences you would like to share?
Thank you so much!
Hello,
First of all, I would like to say that helping is a great deed. And it is only good till it takes a toll on yourself ( mental or physical). I feel you should draw a boundary so as to help your friend and protecting yourself from getting damaged. All the best for your future. Keep doing the good work.
I want answer too for this but a suggestion to that atleast we should reach out to them because we don't know what they are suffering the least we can do is listen them and stand by them. 😊
I think, for me, one thing that i've experienced is that in these situation the best thing you can do is be there for them and let them know that you're there for them. A lot of times the other person isn't really looking for advice, but instead for someone who understands and who doesn't judge. So listen to them, empathize with them, and just be there for them.
