Hello everyone. I am going to share something that is quite precious to me. In 11th grade, I took Psychology. Even before this, I had always been interested in mind, behaviour, body language, relations and philosophy. Systematically studying psychology and practicing the values of it has changed my life.

  • Psychology is not just about mental illness. It helps you to understand the dynamic self and others around you.
  • It gives you an insight to better coping mechanisms, stress management, trains you to deal better whenever you experience a disequilibrium.
  • It helps you achieve a prolonged state of mental-emotional-physical stability and neutrality.
  • You learn to process your feelings and emotions better, articulate and express yourself better and authentically.
  •  As for me, it helped me understand my parents better. I was able to see through their changing emotions, I now understand my mother's menopausal changes better, I see them now as individuals who have their own perceptions, feelings, emotions, throught process. I see them now, as individuals, more than just 'my parents'. How does this help, you ask me? Just imagine this, I am in my teenage, we don't have the infamous 'teenage kid-parent' fight because I too step up and understand them. Moreover, this has also helped me appreciate my parents more. The more I learnt about child development, right parenting and emotional intelligence and how it has to be developed right from the beginning, the more I was able to realize how minutely and with correct knowledge they've raised me.
  • Similarly, now I have a better understanding of positive parenting and I convey these small but significant things to the other young parents around me. Knowledge of Psychology is just so important for child development and parenting.
  • Psychology has helped me cultivate healthy relationships in similar ways with literally everyone around me.
  • I wish you all well and I hope you get to experience your world full of healthy relationships and emotional support in your upcoming years

Hey Vipassana, it's really great how you're applying the knowledge of psychology to make your household, society and infact even your future generations better. I especially liked how you listed the positive impact of studying psychology not only for the society , but for oneself as well. I wish you well too, take care!

This was a pretty good and concise information about psychology. Humans are social animals. It is essential that they form relationships with people around them. But healthy relationships are truly a thing. It is very essential that people understand that not just relationships  but healthy ones will help you grow.
